Former Minister of State for Defence, MUSILIU OBANIKORO spent the night in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC where he was grilled by detectives investigating corruption allegations against him.
OBANIKORO who had only returned to Nigeria from the United States yesterday was reportedly confronted with evidence of his alleged corruption.
EFCC sources say the former minister could not deny statements by witnesses when confronted with evidence including receipts.
According to reports, OBANIKORO informed the detectives that he was ill and was on medication and pleaded to be allowed to go home, adding that he recently underwent a spinal cord surgery and was still recuperating.
However, he was assured that the EFCC had a clinic and an ambulance in case of emergency.
