Man kills live-in-lover on Christmas Day, flees

Homicide detectives of the Lagos State Police Command have started hunting a young man who stabbed his livein- lover to death at Festac area and disappeared. Policemen hunting the fleeing suspect said feelers they got showed that the man had fled to Benin Republic, assisted by friends. The suspect, name yet unknown, killed his 21-year-old lover, Cecilia Joseph.

An unidentified middle age man was electrocuted at the early hours of Sunday while trying to steal electric cable at a power supply installation in Kaduna.

South Korean 'healing center' closes people in coffins to prevent suicide

SEOUL, Dec. 14 (UPI) -- A South Korean "healing center" is tackling the country's suicide problem by having people stage their own "funerals" and spend time locked in coffins.

The Hyowon Healing Center in Seoul, founded by former funeral director Jeong Yong-mun, features groups of people -- often those suffering from depression, anxiety or suicidal thoughts -- being dressed in funeral regalia, photographed in the style of a picture found on a coffin and then being told to write final letters to their loved ones.

Paris attacks: Hollande blames Islamic State for 'act of war'

The near-simultaneous attacks in Paris that killed at least 127 people were an "act of war" organised by the Islamic State militant group, says France's President Francois Hollande.

He said the attacks, carried out by eight gunmen and suicide bombers, were "organised and planned from outside".
The targets included bars, restaurants, a concert and a high-profile football match. More than 180 people were hurt.

Gowon Jack Musa, a k a Jack Spencer, was arrested on November 18, 1992, for conspiring to import in excess of 1kg of heroin into the USA. Detectives found, in his room, a Swiss Air Global Hotel Guide on which Musa had written a reference to "The Heroin Connection."

Sanusi strips Bayero’s son of title

The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II, has sacked Chiroma of Kano, Alhaji Sanusi Bayero, the News Agency of Nigeria reports.
