Stool Test Effective for Detecting Colon Cancer

Colonoscopy still preferred screening, but this offers less invasive option, researchers say

MONDAY, Jan. 25, 2016 (HealthDay News) -- Tests for blood in the stool can consistently detect colon cancer when used on an annual basis, and they are effective even in the second, third and fourth years of screening, a new study says.

The researchers said these findings suggest that the stool test could be a reasonable screening alternative to colonoscopy -- currently considered the gold standard for colon cancer screening.

Court Denies Kanu Of Radio Biafra Bail

A Federal High Court in Abuja has denied bail to the  leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra and founder of Radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, and his two other co-accused.

Kanu and two others  are being prosecuted for treasonable felony and other offences bordering on their agitation for secession ‎of the Republic of Biafra from Nigeria.

Breaking: Supreme court sacks Stella Oduah, Andy Uba from Senate

A full panel of Nigeria’s Supreme Court of Nigeria sitting in Abuja, on Friday, sacked the senators and members of the House of Representatives from Anambra State.

The decision swept away a host of lawmakers from Anambra State, including the Senator representing Anambra North Senatorial District, Stella Oduah and her counterpart representing Anambra South Senatorial District, Andy Ubah. Also affected are members of the House of Representatives elected on the ticket of the PDP.

EFCC says Dariye is still wanted in London

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has revealed that the former governor of Plateau state, Joshua Dariye is wanted by the United Kingdom for alleged money laundering although it is not clear if he will be handed over to the foreign country yet considering he is facing charges in Nigeria.

Awori indigenes stage a protest at Tinubu’s residence in Lagos
