Things you should know about arch. Desmond Tutu

 Whenever and wherever the name, Desmond Tutu is being mentioned, it will always re-echo with a bout of dignity and reminiscence of struggle for the freedom of black man.


Desmond Tutu was an archbishop who put his life on the line in order to see the birth of South Africa of his dream. He was a man of God and man of the people who was always ready to sacrifice himself for the betterment of black people in South Africa.


Today, Desmond Tutu is dead and his legacies have continued to reverberate across the world. His death was announced by the South African president, Cryril Ramaphosa on Sunday morning. 


According to Ramaphosa, Desmond Tutu's death marked another chapter of bereavement in the nation's farewell to a generation of outstanding South Africans.


Although, Desmond Tutu reportedly died at the age of 90, however, there are certain giant strides that will make his name an unforgettable memory whenever and wherever it is being mentioned either in South Africa or anywhere in the world.


1. The fight against political aparthy in South Africa will make Desmond Tutu an icon that can never be forgotten for many generations yo come. He fought against racial discrimination in the country until South Africa became liberated.


2. He stood vehemently against the domination and discrimination of the white minority government in South Africa. Through this moves, Desmond Tutu was sentenced to prison on different occasions. 


Despite this persecution, he was never relent on his determination to liberate his country. This will forever write his name in gold.


3. Deond Tutu was a close ally of Nelson Mandela. He used everything he had to support Mandela in the struggle against aparthy in South Africa. Even at a time when his life was on the line and he was expected to back down from the struggle, Desmond Tutu forged on until the mission was accomplished. 


This was what earned him a Nobel prize in 1984 for his role in the struggle.


Desmond Tutu died at 90 but his name will never be forgotten in the history of South Africa.
