According to a statement from the Nigerian Army, the high-value suspect surrendered along the Ladari–Jegarawa–Tunokalia axis on the Gamboru–Wulgo route during ongoing counter-insurgency operations.

Preliminary investigations identified him as the Chief Finance Operative for the ISWAP enclave at Jubillaram, where he was in charge of the group's finances and logistics.

He surrendered with two male children, who are now in protective custody.
