The Oyo State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has said that it would be prosecuting 17 suspects in connection with drug related offences.
The state Deputy Commander of Narcotics of the NDLEA, Telema Davies-Manuel, made this known after an exercise conducted to destroy and burn 39 hectares of cannabis sativa cultivation at the Seriki Centre of the Gambari Forest Reserve.
The deputy commander said that the arrest of the 17 suspects was, however, not in connection with the cannabis farm that was raided by the operatives of the agency.
The operatives invaded and destroyed the plantation as part of its ongoing efforts to reduce the rate at which cannabis was being cultivated in the state.
