Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero is hopeful of being fit to start against Premier League title rivals Chelsea in Sunday’s big game.
The Argentina star was the league’s leading scorer last season – bagging 26 goals, despite missing much of the campaign through injury.
Aguero was injured again this summer, but he returned as a sub in Monday night’s 3-0 win at West Bromwich Albion.
He is now aiming to make his first start of the campaign, admitting it could come this weekend.
“Whether I start or not remains to be seen,” Aguero told City’s official club website. “I’m trying to get there and be in top condition.
“With the whole season in mind, what matters the most is that I get in top form and don’t take any risks.”
Both games between City and Chelsea ended 1-1 last season.
