Mourinho Ruffles Wenger’s Feathers With Shock Ramsey Move

Jose Mourinho
New Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho and his old enemy Arsene Wenger may not be clashing in the Premier League until November, but the Special One has taken the first shots with plans to move for Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey — if he fails to lure Borussia Dortmund star Henrikh Mkhitaryan. Mourinho, 53, is ready to wind up bitter rival Arsene Wenger by making the £50million-rated midfielder his first transfer target in the Prem.
Ramsey, 25, is presently lighting up the Euros with Wales and Mou fancies the dynamic midfielder to be Manchester United’s answer to Frank Lampard, with whom he enjoyed phenomenal success at Chelsea. Mkhitaryan, 27, remains his top summer target, but Dortmund are understandably reluctant to sell their star playmaker despite United making an improved bid of £28m for the Armenia-born captain, after an initial offer of £19.3m was rejected.

The Armenian bagged 19 goals and provided 24 assists last season, and club chiefs fear losing him would send out the wrong message to stars Marco Reus and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang following the sales of Ilkay Gundogan to Manchester City and Mats Hummels to rivals Bayern Munich. Raiding Prem rivals Arsenal for Rambo would be one of Mourinho’s boldest ever transfer moves, but those are the sort of stunts the Portuguese tactician thrives on. He is set to test Wenger’s resistance with an initial bid of £35m.
