Music Star D'Banj Surprises Osun Politician With Campaign Vehicles for 2027 Race
Popular Nigerian singer Dapo Oyebanjo, better known as D'Banj, has thrown his weight behind Osun politics in a grand style, surprising lawyer and politician Pelumi Olajengbesi with three brand-new campaign vehicles ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The Koko Master donated three brand-new Sienna space buses to Olajengbesi in support of his ambition to represent the Oriade-Obokun Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives in 2027.
The singer presented the vehicles to Olajengbesi in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, on Thursday.
How D'Banj's Surprise Gift Unfolded in Osogbo
What makes the story go viral is how the donation was planned. According to Olajengbesi, D'Banj contacted him about two weeks earlier to ask for the contact details of the person handling his campaign branding.
Olajengbesi said he assumed the request was for D'Banj's CREAM project, which supports young creatives and shared the contact.
“However, yesterday, I received a surprise, three fully branded Sienna space buses from D'Banj in Osogbo,” he wrote.
The singer, whose real name is Dapo Oyebanjo, presented three brand-new, fully branded Sienna space buses to Olajengbesi in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, on Thursday, October 1, 2026.
In his emotional appreciation post on Instagram on Friday, October 2, Olajengbesi recounted his call to the music star:
"About two weeks ago, my great brother, the Koko Master himself iambangalee, called me and asked me to help him get the contact of the person who does my campaign branding, that he needed to brand a vehicle for his CREAM project designed for young creatives. So, I simply shared the contact with him. However, yesterday, I received a surprise, three fully branded Sienna space buses from D'banj in Osogbo. I immediately called him. His response was simple, 'It's my token of support.' Wow! Oluwami! Bangalee, I do not take this for granted."
Who is Pelumi Olajengbesi? The Osun Politician Receiving D'Banj's Support
Pelumi Olajengbesi is not new to Osun politics. The lawyer and politician is the Accord Party candidate for Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency.
He served as the campaign spokesman for the re-election bid of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke in the August 15 governorship election. He is also the convener of the Imole Grassroots Mobilisation Network in Osun State.
Olajengbesi, who turned 40 in August, previously contested the Oriade-Obokun Federal Constituency seat in 2019.
Growing Celebrity Backing for Oriade-Obokun Race
D'Banj is not the first music star to back Olajengbesi. The donation comes after Afrobeats singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, endorsed Olajengbesi's bid to represent the constituency.
This wave of entertainment industry support is already making the Oriade-Obokun Federal Constituency one of the most watched House of Representatives races ahead of 2027.

What This Means for Osun 2027 Politics
D'Banj's move shows a growing trend of Nigerian entertainers directly supporting grassroots politicians, not just presidential candidates. Donating fully branded, road-ready Sienna buses gives Olajengbesi instant visibility across all wards in Oriade and Obokun local governments — a major logistical advantage for mobilization.
