Lagos State residents are thrilled as Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu commissions the Abiola-Onijemo link road and Alapere pedestrian bridge. This project has brought immense relief to motorists and residents in Ifako-Ijaiye and Kosofe Local Councils, who previously faced difficulties due to bad roads and lack of pedestrian infrastructure ¹.
The Abiola-Onijemo link road is a 643-meter long project featuring a 135-meter reinforced concrete bridge, 7.3-meter-wide carriageways, slip roads, walkways, and solar-powered street lighting. Residents are praising Governor Sanwo-Olu for his commitment to infrastructure development, which aligns with the state's infrastructure master plan.
The benefits of this project are numerous:
- *Improved Safety*: The new pedestrian bridge replaces a wooden bridge that residents had to pay to use. It also provides a safe crossing point over the Berger-Oworonshoki expressway.
- *Boost to Businesses*: Residents like Moji Adeoye are thanking the government for the project, saying it will help boost her business and increase rental values in the area.
- *Enhanced Quality of Life*: The project has brought respite to residents who previously had to risk their lives crossing the expressway.
Governor Sanwo-Olu has promised more development projects in the pipeline and urged residents to take care of the new infrastructure.
