Tinubu Hails Black Market Team as Nollywood Sets New Guinness World Record
Lagos — President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated filmmakers Damilola Osikoya and Nora Awolowo after their Nollywood crime thriller Black Market set a new Guinness World Record.

In a statement issued on Monday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu celebrated the team.

President Tinubu described the achievement as proof of the talent and enterprise driving Nigeria's creative sector.
“President Tinubu celebrates the filmmakers for their creativity, enterprise and ambition, describing their achievement as further evidence of the extraordinary talent driving Nigeria’s creative industry.”
He added that film, music, fashion and art are now carrying Nigeria’s stories to the world while building real economic value at home.
“Nigeria’s creative economy is building businesses, creating jobs and opening new markets for Nigerian talent.”
The President noted that Black Market demonstrates what Nigerian creativity can achieve when combined with enterprise and scale, and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to creating opportunities for young Nigerians to build businesses from their talents.
