Anti-corruption war...Buhari under elite pressure – Osinbajo

President Muhammadu Buhari is under pressure from the Nigerian elite to soft pedal on the war against corruption, his deputy, Yemi Osinbajo, said yesterday.
Vice President Osinbajo spoke at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja during a meeting with a delegation of the Muslim Congress of Nigeria (MCN).

Pastor arrested over rape of teenage girl

A 34-year-old pastor has been arrested by the police for allegedly raping a 17-year-old girl in Phase 2, Site 1 area of Kubwa, Abuja.
The suspect was alleged to have raped the victim several times before he was eventually arrested.

Just in: ICPC case against Farouk Lawan adjourned

An Abuja High Court has adjourned a fuel subsidy scam case against a former House of Representatives member Farouk Lawan.

In her ruling today, the judge over the case Angela Otaluka adjourned the case to Tuesday, February 9, for examination and cross examination of the first witness, Boniface Emenalo.
