FACT-CHECK: Buhari, APC lied in disowning campaign document, “My Covenant With Nigerians

The claims by President Muhammadu Buhari and his party, the All Progressives Congress, that a key campaign document, “My Covenant With Nigerians” did not emerge from them is false and misleading, a PREMIUM TIMES investigation has shown.

Extensive checks by this newspaper showed that not only was the document circulated in the run-up to the April 11 presidential election by staff of Mr. Buhari’s campaign organization, the literature was also extensively promoted by party officials, including using the APC website to do so.

Background
Chief Fernandez was born in Lagos southwestern Nigeria into the Fernandez family that originated from [[Cuba l]] and the first European migrant to Lagos State. He has been in diplomacy since 1996. In 1982, he served as advisor to the Angolan Government on Economic matter. He held this position for two years until his appointment as Deputy Permanent Representative of Mozambique to the United Nations in 1984. He runs an oil company called Petro Inett which obtained a 50% share with South African-based Energy Africa Limited in a deal with the state oil company for exploration rights in a 4,700 km2 area of Angola's coast in 1996. In 1992, he was appointed as Special Adviser to the President of Mozambique on International Economic Matters, a position he held for three years.

Real Madrid 'did everything' to sign Man Utd keeper

Real Madrid say they did everything they could to sign Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea, after missing the deadline by two minutes.

The 24-year-old's £29m deal and that of Keylor Navas going the other way fell through with Real saying United took eight hours to reply to contracts.
Real have released a statement  explaining the timeline of events and it is not thought they will appeal.
