Manchester City’s Ivorian midfielder Yaya Toure has been charged with drink driving, police have confirmed.
According to the police, the 33-year-old was driving in Dangeham in East London at the time of the alleged offence.
The police said he was charged on Tuesday with driving while his alcohol level was above the legal limit.
He will appear at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on 13 December.
Yaya has just recently returned into the Manchester City team following an exile imposed on him by new manager Pep Guardiola.
Guardiola said he was overweight, and also demanded that he makes an apology for comments made by his agents criticizing the tactician.
