The Ogun Police Command has arrested two notorious cultists, Omotola Amuda (18) and Adesegun Mayowa (20), who were on the wanted list of the command.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, informed PREMIUM TIMES of the development on Sunday, saying the suspects were nabbed at Ago-Iwoye town in Ijebu-North Local Government Area of the state.
The police say the two suspects are members of a deadly cult group terrorising Ago Iwoye and environs.
Mr. Oyeyemi said the suspects were apprehended by officers on routine patrol, adding that they were found with a bag containing locally made guns and cartridges.
He said the Commissioner of Police, Iliyasu Ahmed, had already ordered that the men be transferred to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad in Abeokuta, the state capital, for further investigation.
Mr. Oyeyemi added that the commissioner warned that criminals operating in the state should either change their ways or relocate elsewhere because the state would no longer be a comfort zone for them.
The commissioner, the spokesperson said, promised that the command would do everything possible to rid the state of crime and criminality.
