Abuja - A month after operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), arrested one Ibiteye John Bamidele, at the Murtala Mohammed Airport, Lagos, for being in possession of $2,198,900, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has said that it has discovered that the real owner of the money is the former Executive Secretary of the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), Dr. Olufemi Martins Thomas.
Accordingly, the EFCC said it has concluded arrangement to declare Dr. Thomas wanted over the money, which the commission described as money laundering. The move to declare Dr. Thomas wanted became imperative after he I believed to have suddenly disappeared into thin air.
