Photo: Police parade four rapists in Ebonyi State

Four young men from Ohaozara and Onicha LGAs in Ebonyi state were yesterday June 19th paraded by men of the Ebonyi state Police command for assault, attempted rape, robbery, malicious damage and other related offences. The four men had on separate occasions individually raped different women, also stealing from the women after raping them

At a press briefing yesterday, the state Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Chris Anyanwu narrated how the four men carried out their evil acts. See that below...
"On June 8, Mrs. Hanna Augustine Chukwu, 82, a native of Umuira Okposi in Ohaozara Local Government Area, boarded a commuter bus from Enugwulangwu road. The driver, one John Isaac, dropped other passengers and on noticing that the woman was the only one left in the bus, stopped and dragged her to the rear side of the vehicle and raped her. After the act, he robbed her of N8,500 and drove away. When he was later apprehended, the suspect admitted committing crime.

On June 12, at 11 a.m, Happiness Nwali, a 30-year old female from Obeagu Isu Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State was in the farm cultivating wheat when one Okwudili Okoye came around and lured her to a nearby uncompleted building where he pounced on her with a motive to rape her. A struggle ensued between the duo with the suspect gaining upper hand as he hit the victim on her neck, breast and wrist with bricks in an attempt to strangle her. It was with the help of two passers-by, who were attracted by the loud screams of the victims, that she was rescued.

On May 16, 2014, Ifeoma Obasi, a 23-year-old SS3 student of All Saints Secondary School, Effium and a native of Okporo village in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State hired a motorcycle operated by her close relative, Friday Omenyi. On their way, Friday Omenyi veered off towards Okporo forest where he attacked her and tore her dress before having unlawful carnal knowledge of her" he said.
The four men have confessed to the crimes and will be charged to court after investigation.

Nigeria Explosion Kills 13 At World Cup Viewing Center

At least 13 people including young children were killed when a bomb tore through a venue in Northeast Nigeria where fans had gathered to watch a World Cup soccer match, witnesses said.

Some people at the scene told Reuters an attacker dropped a device in front of the venue on Tuesday night in the town of Damaturu and ran off, while others said it was the work of a suicide bomber.

No one claimed responsibility for the blast, but Damaturu and the surrounding Yobe state are at the heart of a five-year-old insurgency by Islamist group Boko Haram.

The group was blamed for a an attack on another venue screening soccer matches in the northeastern state of Adamawa that killed at least 14 people and wounded 12..

A Reuters reporter at Damaturu's General Sani Abacha Specialist Hospital counted 13 people dead - including small children - and at least 20 wounded.

The Nigerian government has advised people to avoid gathering in public to watch the World Cup, concerned about potential attacks.

Many fans in soccer-mad Africa rely on informal venues - often open-sided structures with televisions set up in shops and side streets - to watch live coverage of the sport.

The Truth About Smoking

* Don't smoke- Experiment from experts proves that smoking a cigarette after meal is comparable to smoking 10 cigarettes (chances of cancer is higher).

* Don't eat fruits immediately -When you eat your fruits with meals, the fruit is stuck in the stomach along with the contents of the meals and cannot reach the intestines in time. Lying there they get spoilt and spoil the remaining food in the stomach too. Thus it is recommended that you eat a fruit at least one hour after eating a meal or before your meal and preferably in the morning with empty stomach. It is in the morning that the body can best use the nutrients in the fruit and get enough energy to start the day.

* Don't drink tea - Because tea leaves contain a high content of acid. This substance will cause the Protein content in the food we consume to be hardened thus difficult to digest. It is preferable to drink tea an hour after meals.

* Don't loosen your belt -Fiction, not particularly bad for you!
We generally have an attitude that a good meal is that which forces us to loosen our belts. However, loosening the belt is bad, not because it causes the intestines to twist or block but because it means that you have over eaten to a level that you are uncomfortable. Loosening of the belt may also cause you to feel comfortable once again which means you may continue overeating.
So eat only to the extent that you can be comfortable without loosening your belt!

* Don't bathe - Bathing after meal will cause the increase of blood flow to the hands, legs & body thus the amount of blood around the stomach will therefore decrease. This will weaken the digestive system in our stomach.

* Don't walk about -Fact, it is bad for you! Walking directly after meals is a bad idea, it can result to acid reflux and indigestion. However, walking about half an hour after meals is known to be good for you. Researchers in the Department of Exercise Science at the University of South Carolina, have found that walking after exercise is a good way to burn energy.

The point to note is when to walk, you should ideally walk for about 10 minutes and only 20-30 minutes after meal to prevent acid reflux and stomach upsets.

* Don't sleep immediately - The food we intake will not be able to digest properly. Thus will lead to gastric & infection in our intestine.

Kindly share with family & friends

Shooting in Las Vegas

Two people have shot and killed two police officers in the US city of Las Vegas, before killing another person and then shooting themselves.
The incident began in a pizza cafe on Sunday, when a man and a woman shot at the two officers who were having lunch.
They then entered a Walmart shop nearby and shot one person dead, before committing suicide. Police say there are no other suspects in the shooting.

Chronic Fatigue Immune Dysfunction Syndrome (CFIDS) (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) (CFS)

The official mainstream medicine line on chronic fatigue immune dysfunction syndrome (CFIDS) is that it is a "chronic inflammatory illness of undetermined origin that is suspected, but not proven, to have an autoimmune component, as many of those diagnosed with CFIDS have circulating antinuclear autoantibodies."

This misguided understanding of what CFIDS actually is explains why mainstream medicine has been of no use to people with this "syndrome." In fact, the use of the word "syndrome" belies the fact that they do not understand the causation or treatment. When a doctor tells you that you have a "syndrome" you can know that no help is forthcoming. Typically, such doctors recommend "antidepressants." Patients leave their offices with diminished respect for medicine because they know what they have is not depression.

Many alternative medicine practitioners, on the other hand, grasp that CFIDS has something to do with toxicity and they approach the illness with various methods of "detoxification." However, the illness is not that simple and this explains why these practitioners achieve sometimes fair, but temporary, results. Usually a patient with chronic fatigue ends up self-treating because no one seems to understand the illness.

One possible symptoms of CFIDS is chronic oppressive muscular pain, a condition which has been termed fibromyalgia.

In fact, the cause of CFIDS is a condition of heavy metal (usually mercury) toxicity/overload complexed with an intestinal gut wall chronic inflammation. That is the briefest of definitions which does not even hint at the complexity of treatment and surely requires explanation.

But, before I explain the cause and proper treatment of this disorder, let me list possible symptoms of CFIDS (no one has all of these symptoms, but if you have CFIDS, you will recognize many of these in yourself):
constant relentless fatigue, helped little by rest
reduction of activity by 50% or more
severe muscular weakness
chronic pain in muscles
attention deficit
difficulty concentrating
difficulty calculating
memory disturbance
spatial disorientation
getting lost in familiar locations
difficulty judging distances
often saying wrong word
often forgetting a common word
sleep disturbance
headache
changes in visual acuity
seizures
numbness
tingling
lightheadedness
feeling spaced out
difficulty with balance
difficulty moving tongue to speak
ringing in ears
paralysis
blackouts
photophobia
alteration of in sense of taste
alteration of in sense of smell
alteration of in sense of hearing
sleep is non-restorative
decreased libido
twitching muscles

Conventional medicine was very slow to recognize the existence of CFIDS and many rigid doctors still deny that it exists. Those conventional doctors who do try to treat it use drugs, treating CFIDS as if it were depression, using anti-depressants. This approach is not only incorrect (i.e. the cause of CFIDS is not insufficient quantities of the latest drug pushed by the pharmaceutical industry), it is also ineffective.

How CFIDS Develops

Let me walk you through how CFIDS develops and this will make the treatment of the illness comprehensible. The lining of the gut is a delicate membrane and the wall of the gut behind it contains 80% of the immune system. These patches of immune or "lymphoid" tissue are called "Peyer's patches" for Dr. Peyers who described them over 100 years ago. When the digestive/immune system complex works correctly, the microflora (bacteria) in the food passing through the gut is closely regulated. Secretory A is an antibody which is placed on the surface of the gut wall and it kills off "bad" bacteria, fungus, and yeast. The integrity of the immune system in the gut wall depends on the integrity of the gut lining. If the gut lining breaks down and lesions appear, these lesions serve as entry points for pathogenic bacteria, fungus, and yeast. Once embedded in the gut wall, the toxicity these bacteria produce renders the immune system incapable of regulating the microflora still in the lumen of the gut and this produces "dysbiosis" (overgrowth of the "wrong" or "bad" organisms). The toxins released by this dysbiotic condition account for the symptoms of CFIDS.

Now, having said that, we come to understand the danger involved in "bad habits." Here are the bad habits which can lead to breakdown of the gut wall: (1) having dental work which involves metals, (2) overuse of antibiotics, (3) long-term and frequent consumption of coffee, (4) long-term and frequent consumption of alcohol, (5) smoking, and (6) stressing oneself and allowing this to go on for extended periods. In people who are susceptible (and this has something to do with genetics and "constitution") the gut lining (which is one cell layer in thickness and is called the "endothelium") develops tiny holes large enough to admit micro-organisms. The development of these tiny holes is called "leaky gut." In some rare individuals this is a constant state of affairs and can actually be measured by lab tests. In most people these tiny holes are rapidly repaired, however not before the opportunity for invasion by micro-organisms has occurred.

Once in the gut wall, micro-organisms invade Peyer's patches and quickly disable the immune system - not completely, but enough that the organisms can live in the gut wall. This is a kind of "Mexican stand-off." If two men are both armed with knives ready to strike, no one should strike since both will die. Thus, the chronic infection which develops in the gut wall does not kill the patient, but merely disables him/her. As the immune system hits the skids and dysbiosis takes over, the symptoms in the list above begin to appear.

How To Treat and Cure CFIDS

Understanding the "pathogenesis" of CFIDS allows us to shut it down. Here are the steps:

(1) The offending agent or agents must be eliminated. Mercury and other metals, antibiotics, coffee, alcohol, cigarettes, and excessive stress all have to go. That sounds easy, but when the patient has a mouth full of dental metals, it become a big expensive project and here one encounters dentists who have no idea of the damage they are doing to some people by installing tons of dental metals. There is no dental work which cannot be done free of metals, but there are dentists who can't do that work and there are other dentists who refuse to do that work. Here we encounter the existence of institutionalized ignorance and take it from me, you will not be able to educate or change your dentist and his/her point of view. What you have to do is find a "metal free dentist" and they are rare. Those dentists trained in the Netherlands are a good choice as it is illegal to install mercury in human beings in that culture, but those people are not commonly found in the U.S. (although we have one here in Santa Rosa). Also, when metals are drilled out, they vaporize ("sublimate") and part of it is inhaled. Therefore, one should have the dental work done and then go straight to a doctor (and these are also rare) who can give an IV to chelate out the inhaled metals within two hours - before it is methylated by the liver and deposited in the brain and spinal cord.

(2) When the mouth is free of metal, it is time to test for the "residual metal burden." The source of metal may have been the dental work, but the real problem (where the rubber meets the road) is the metal that has migrated to the rest of the body over those years of exposure. This test is called a "Challenge Test." A chelating agent is given (usually intravenously) and a six hour urine collection is then analyzed for the toxic metals excreted. A plain blood or urine test will be negative unless exposure to large amounts of mercury or other metals has occurred in the last two days because of the fact that toxic metals are stored inside cells and are not available for measurement in blood or urine. (Many doctors do not understand this point.)

(3) When the results of that test are in, the doctor will better be able to prescribe oral or intravenous chelation to bring down the levels of toxic metals. The higher the levels revealed by the test, the lower should be the dose of oral or IV chelation. The reason for this is the fact that too rapid removal of metals can raise the blood levels to intolerable heights. (Metals have to traverse the blood when they come out of cells in order to reach the kidneys and liver to be excreted.) The process of metal detox will require anywhere from one to eight months.

(4) When metal detox is complete (and completion is proven by another Challenge Test), the final phase of treatment can begin. This involves the SanPharma Protocol, a use of the SanPharma Remedies devised to regenerate the immune system. Until this is accomplished, the patients with CFIDS will not recover and unless this last step is taken, there is little reason to do the first three steps. The SanPharma Remedies are a German product and they are classified as "isopathics." American medicine has nothing in this category, so we are indebted to the Germans for developing these wonderful remedies. They consist of specific compounds isolated from pathogenic bacteria which safely and effectively train the immune system to deal with these organisms. The protocol requires eleven weeks and for most people there is a small maintenance program which prevents CFIDS from making a come-back.

Carbohydrates in Nutrition

Carbohydrates come in three basic forms: simple, refined, and complex. Simple carbs are one, two, or at most three units of sugar linked together in single molecules. Refined carbs are made of flour so that means foods like pastries, breads, and pastas. Flour has been stripped of its cellulose (fiber) and almost all of its nutritional value. Simple and refined carbs are referred to as “empty calories.” These calories require vitamins and minerals to be metabolized, but supply none of those requirements. Thus they drain the body of stored nutrients. Refined  carbs are hundreds or thousands of sugar units linked together in single molecules.

Simple sugars are easily identified by their taste: sweet. Most people know to avoid excess simple sugars. The same alarms do not go off when consuming breads and pastas, although they should since these items convert to simple sugar within minutes of consumption. Potatoes and rice are not very different in that respect.

Complex carbs come in two varieties: high fiber and low fiber. The main stuff in high-fiber, complex carbs which is cellulose. Fiber is not digestible by human beings because we do not have the enzyme (cellulase) to do the job. Cows and other ruminants do not make cellulase either, but they can get calories out of grass because they have a bacteria which can break down cellulose for them.

High-fiber (high-cellulose) vegetable foods (not grass of course) are the healthiest choices for human nutrition, and the ingestion is associated with lowered incidences of hypertension, cancer, arthritis, diabetes, etc. Examples are lettuce and broccoli. Examples of low-fiber, complex carbs are potatoe, rice, banana, tomato, squash and all cereals and grains (therefore bread and pasta), potatoes and rice.

After digestion, carbohydrates appear in the circulatory system in the simple form, as glucose, on its way to the cells where it is used for energy. To be transformed into simple sugars, refined carbs must be digested by the enzyme amylase. Amylase is secreted by the salivary glands, which empty into the mouth, and by the pancreas, which empties into the head of the duodenum.

Simple sugars, refined carbohydrates, and low-fiber, complex carbs represent a threat to health when they are consumed in inappropriate amounts such as may occur in low-soy, vegetarian diets where they are being eaten to replace the calories which would ordinarily come from protein.

Processing of plant food strips away its fiber and/or vitamin content. A simple example of processing is cutting an orange in two pieces, pressing the juice into a glass and discarding the fiber.

While it is true that fiber is an important part of your diet, even necessary to protect you from some diseases, carbohydrates themselves are not necessary. There are “essential” fatty acids and “essential” amino acids (from protein), however there are no known essential carbohydrates.

Most of our carbohydrates come from cereals and grains, both products of the agricultural revolution. Our bodies are not genetically designed to thrive on large amounts of these fiberless complex carbs. With the popularity of cereal-based and grain-based “health diets,” carbohydrate metabolism has been upset in approximately 3/4 of the population which simply cannot handle this large load of carbs. Increased insulin output from the pancreas, over the years, results in hyperinsulinism, insulin resistance and the resulting diseases mentioned above: hypertension, dyslipidemia, atherosclerosis and heart disease.

Complex carbs with lots of fiber should be consumed in proper proportion for maximum health and vitality. Complex carbs with lots of fiber are rich sources of necessary vitamins and minerals as well as enzymes when in the raw state. The problem happens when carbohydrates are altered by processes which provide empty calories stripped of much of their original food value.

I should also mention the relationship between simple sugars and mucus formation. The biochemical name for mucus is mucopolysaccharide. This literally means “mucus of many sugars,” and it tells us how mucus is formed through the linking together of sugar molecules. If you have a condition, such as asthma or emphysema, in which mucus is part of the problem, you can do yourself a lot of good by stopping your intake of simple sugars and lowering your intake of refined carbohydrates. (which convert to simple sugars upon digestion). Unfortunately, this means such wonderful sweet fruits as plums, peaches, apples, etc., must go along with breads, pastas and pastries.

The most healthy form of sugar is the complex carbohydrates present in high-fiber vegetables; however, it is certainly acceptable to spice up your diet in moderation with simple sugars in the form of whole fruits in moderation. Eat your fruits, do not juice them and drink them, unless you are on a juice fast. Eating the whole fruit results in the inclusion of natural fiber, which allows proper absorption of sugars. If you must have juice, dilute it with twice the recommended amount of water, so as to get the taste without overdosing on simple sugars.

The Result of Excess Carbohydrate Intake

Excess carbohydrates also causes generalized vascular disease. The high-carbohydrate diet which is now so popular causes the pancreas to produce large amounts of insulin, and if this happens for many years in a genetically predisposed person, the insulin receptors throughout the body become resistant to insulin. Because insulin's action is to drive glucose into the cells, this results in chronic hyperglycemia, also called "high blood sugar." A large portion of this sugar is stored as fat resulting in obesity. Excess insulin also causes hypertension and helps initiate the sequence of events in the arterial wall which leads to atherosclerosis and heart disease.

Adult onset diabetes is known to be greatly benefited by the adoption of a low carbohydrate diet, moderate in fat, which stresses the importance of a regular intake of sufficient protein. You will not hear this advice from the American Diabetes Association, (or from most doctors) since they are still operating on the research as it was twenty years ago.

Many cancers, such as breast, colon and lung cancer, apparently have a hereditary tendency. However, it may be that nutritional habits are passed on from one generation to the next, thus accounting for the familial tendency toward cancer.

Excess fats damage the immune system through irradiation by free radicals during peroxidation of fats. Excess carbohydrates upset the hormonal system mentioned above (known as the "eicosanoids") and results in an imbalance favoring the type of eicosanoid (known as "prostaglandins E-2" or "PGE-2") which also suppresses the immune system. Thus obesity is associated with a higher incidence of infection.
