SIT AT HOME..Obituary Of Lady Killed During Sit-At-Home In Anambra, 2 Days After Her Marriage
Amarachukwu had just celebrated her marriage ceremony the Saturday before her life was tragically cut short.
The lady, an indigene of Anambra State, Mrs Ifeoma Amarachukwu Ochiagha was among those who lost their lives last Monday during an attack by gunmen in Nnobi.
She will be buried this Thursday.
Amarachukwu was hit by a stray bullet when vigilante operatives engaged gunmen at Nnobi Junction last Monday.
It was gathered that vigilante operatives operating in Nnewi had received intelligence that a gang of armed men was coming into Nnewi through the Nnobi community, prompting the commander to lead his men to engage them.
The commander, Mr Eloka Ubajekwe, was unfortunately killed in the crossfire, along with some others who were hit by stray bullets, including Amarachukwu.
Amarachukwu had just celebrated her marriage ceremony the Saturday before the incident and was looking forward to a life of marital bliss when her life was tragically cut short.
A burial poster shared by her family and signed by her father, Mr Timothy Ochiagha, revealed that she was only 22 when she died.
A post by one of her relatives read: “One of the victims of the Nnobi/Nnewi Monday sit-at-home mayhem will be buried on Thursday.
“Amarachukwu, who got married on Saturday, met her sudden death (unknown gunmen) the next Monday.
“May your gentle soul rest in peace, Nwadiana,” the relative wrote.
It was gathered that the gunmen, suspected to be separatist elements, were on a mission to enforce the already abolished Monday sit-at-home protest in the South East.
