"OLOLADE MI ASAKE: The Evolution Of Mr. Money"
Asake's remarkable journey began at Obafemi Awolowo University (O.A.U), where he started as a floater before pursuing Dramatic Arts. Yet, it wasn't his studies but the friendships he formed that transformed his life dramatically.
Within the walls of O.A.U, Asake bonded with Yhemolee, Fireboy, Super Boy Cheque, Chinko Ekun, and Blaqbones. Their shared passion for music ignited in those moments, and after graduating in 2016, they embarked on adulthood.
Yhemolee, Asake, and Super Boy Cheque ventured to Lagos, guided more by hope than a plan. Yhemolee's humorous IG videos unexpectedly caught the attention of Don Jazzy and Tunde Ednut, propelling him into influencer status. He embraced crypto during the pandemic in 2020, becoming financially secure and welcoming Asake to join him.
Asake struggled in his music journey while his friends thrived. However, his perseverance and consistency kept him going, despite reaching out to Olamide for a record deal since 2018 without a response.
Yhemolee, Asake's friend, transformed into a prominent "Nightlife Influencer." One fateful day, Olamide reached out to Yhemolee, inquiring about another friend. Seizing the opportunity, Yhemolee instantly took action. He informed Olamide about an artist he wanted him to hear, and even proposed the idea of featuring the artist in one of his songs. This encounter unfolded in 2022.
Yhemolee told him about Asake and when Olamide asked for him to send him some of Asake’s, Yhemolee immediately sent him “Omo Ope”, Olamide loved the song.
Olamide did a verse on the song and sent it to Yhemolee.
Asake's tears of joy when he heard it marked the beginning of his success story.
After signing with YBNL, Asake's career skyrocketed. In just one year, he transformed from a struggling artist to a global sensation, even selling out the O2 arena in the UK. His journey underlines the significance of friends who support, uplift, and connect you.
Remember, when your time comes, the stars align. Don't compare, just do your best at your pace, and have faith in grace. Cherish true friends who speak well of you behind your back—they're rare treasures.
Congratulations to Asake on his remarkable journey!✍️
